Corners kicked off their US tour at the Echoplex last Tuesday with help from Adult Books and Death Valley Girls. Despite best efforts over the past year or so, we’ve never been able to catch any of these band’s sets – which only made it all the more spectacular to find them all on one bill!!
Corners – the Echo Park-based, Lolipop Record-signed badasses – had us Maxed Out on Distractions with the way they blend what feels like seemingly familiar sounds ranging from post-punk to surf and garage, but somehow deliver it in a fresh, new, exhilarating package. Adult Books guided us in trippy new directions, while Death Valley Girls took the time to kindly break our hearts with pure attitude, energy, and passion. Thanks Echo and friends for a wonderful night!
