The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion rule pretty hard. And they are back with a new video from what will be the band’s eighth studio album, Freedom Tower – No Wave Dance Party 2015! The vid for “Bette vs. The NYPD” stars comedian Bridget Everett – who we see take the scene from a depressing police line-up to a back room interrogation dance party. The song itself showcases The JSBE doing what they have proven to do best over their nearly 25 years as a band – plowing through the dirt and grit of garage rock while attempting to commit a “savage funkacide.”
The new album is shaping up to be quite the heavy hitter for 2015 – with the great album name and promises to be “a high-octane dance party record” – and will be out soon, on March 24, via Mom + Pop. Peep another super-jammin’ single from the album below!
